HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HORIZON

Unlucky for some, the number 13 feels good to us.

Saturday 1st June marked 13 years of Horizon Search & Selection; quite the milestone to reach our teenage years as a business and bonkers because both Gemma and I remember the early days so well. It makes us feel quite old.

Against the odds, we are still here! And perhaps amazingly, still REALLY like what we do. For two people that ‘fell’ into the recruitment industry and have faced ups and downs during our time within it, it’s pleasing to still be here, having a nice time.

The annual ‘thank yous’ go out to our clients, the long-term, the ones who rarely need us but keep in touch, the one-hit wonders,  and the ones who are still getting to know us. We appreciate you all. Our business relies on our clients, and our work lives and business success wouldn’t be nearly as good if those client relationships weren’t graced with mutual trust, respect and understanding. So, thank you!

A big thanks to our candidates too. We remember pretty much all of you, we think! No mean feat as we’ve spoken to a LOT of people in the last 13 years but some of you are such gems, such lovely, funny, memorable characters. Thanks for making us laugh, for telling us your career and life stories, for all the conversations and for letting us guide you through the recruitment process.

Anyway, As often happens in life, the older you get the less fuss you make and the less you mark the occasion. Gemma and I celebrated last week with coronation chicken sandwiches and nice coffee from our favourite, Folk Cafe. That’ll do us!
