BEFORE WE START: We recently had an annoying website issue that has meant we’ve been unable to create new posts to our site. So…this post is from a LinkedIn article we published back at the start of April. It may be a bit outdated now BUT the information is still correct, and it’s important to share so as many workers and employers are in-the-know as possible!
Thankfully most employers are good eggs these days and make sure to keep up to date with changes such as this, BUT a few forget or simply aren’t aware.
If you’re an employer with staff paid the hourly NMW, or are an employee earning the NMW then it’s worth checking that what you’re paying or being paid is correct in line with the new minimum hourly rates set out by the government. These new rates come into effect on Monday 1st April (that’s next week folks!). Check out the new rates below or on the gov.uk website here.
So check y’self and make sure you’re paying or earning the right amount as of Monday. You don’t want to be missing out on those precious pennies, or be facing penalties as an employer if you’re not paying properly!
Happy Spring everyone! Don’t forget for more recruitment and employment-related info and fun things check our website’s news page.
